Risk and Compliance Officer Permanent

A flourishing financial services business are seeking to add an experienced Risk and Compliance Officer to their team. The company have a strong reputation on a regional and national level. The Risk and Compliance Officer will be joining a friendly and established team who will help support as and when required. The Risk and Compliance Officer will be experienced in Second Line risk and compliance oversight functions, First Line oversight / QA function or hail from an Internal Audit background.

Risk and Compliance Officer Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Develop and maintain clear strategy to ensure compliance within mortgages and home insurance and effective level of service is maintained.
  • Advise on effectiveness of procedures and controls in relation to mortgages and home insurance sales.
  • Escalate and report back non-compliance areas in a timely manner.
  • Undertake role play and real-time evidence of statutory compliance for mortgages and home insurance.
  • Ensure that staff receive the necessary feedback and guidance to improve accuracy, productivity, quality and overall work standards.
  • Ensure good communication with staff so they are always aware of changes which affect their role.
  • Develop training material for advised mortgage sales, execution only retention and home insurance. Ensuring alignment with wider L&D and securing approval from 2nd line compliance as required.
  • Monitor changes in regulations/guidelines and work collaboratively with the Training and Development Officer and Compliance to develop and provide training to ensure the company remains compliant with regulatory requirements.


Applicants to the Risk and Compliance Executive role will have demonstrable experience in the above duties, gained in the financial services sector. Due to the nature of regulations, it is advantageous if candidates are CeMAP qualified with in-depth knowledge of all relevant legislation.


Working hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm (35 hours per week).
