An privately owned business in Cardiff are recruiting for an Accountant on a permanent basis. The company has been established for more than thirty years and they operate in a niche sector.
This role is a standalone position and will report to the company Director therefore the successful applicant will be responsible for all finance activities.
Accountant duties
- Processing both Sales and Purchase Ledger transactions to including posting and allocating payments, credit control, matching invoices with delivery notes and posting, daily bank reconciliations.
- Processing accruals and prepayments.
- Maintaining Fixed Assets register.
- Calculating and processing VAT Returns.
- Stock and Work In Progress reporting.
- Producing weekly creditors reports.
- Monthly credit card and Hire Purchase analysis.
- Monthly Management Accounts for two businesses with balance sheet analysis and commentary.
- Producing Yearend accounts and Yearend Payroll returns.
Accountant person specification
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role with an SME business.
- Able to work and resolve any financial issues independently.
- Communicate with non-financial colleagues.
- Provide insight into business performance to Directors.
- Able to work in a ‘hands-on’ role.
This role would suit a candidate who enjoys variety and is comfortable being the sole member of the finance staff. Previous experience of working for an SME is essential.
