Accounts Manager Permanent

Swansea based Accountancy Practice are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager from an Accountancy practice environment. You will be joining a firm of Accountants, who provide premier accounting, assurance, tax and specialist business advice worldwide.

This role will give exposure to a broad client base and offers the opportunity to develop and progress.

Over the last few years, the practice have won multiple industry awards; such as National Firm of the Year, Tax Team of the Year, Graduate and Non-Graduate programme of the Year, Best Advisory Services and most recently the gold standard accreditation by Investors in People.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Senior/Executive to join a progressive practice and develop in a supportive environment. To be considered for this role you need to have worked with cloud based accountancy software including: Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, IRIS or CCH.

To be considered for this vacancy you need to be ACA/ACCA qualified or a seasoned QBE Manager who is experienced managing a portfolio of clients. You need to be able to demonstrate commercially – able to seek out opportunities within the portfolio.


Accounts Manager duties and responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management, plan, control and review of client work to ensure that jobs are completed efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Team Management, day to day line management, allocation of work, identifying development needs and completing staff reviews and feedback.
  • Business Development, advisory and ad hoc work, identifying opportunities to offer additional services to clients, identifying new clients through networking and client referrals and coaching team members to do the same.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards from books and records maintained by the firm or the client.
  • Prepare management accounts from information and documentation received from clients, ensuring that all relevant deadlines are met.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to clients in relation to financial reporting matters.
  • Develop and maintain good client relations.
  • Liaise with clients directly or through relevant manager to resolve queries or obtain further information.
  • Ensure a high level of service to meet client’s expectations.
  • Make timely and relevant recommendations in relation to accounting matters, financial reporting and accounting systems in use (including software).

Working hours; Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week- flexible and hybrid working patterns available
