Accounts Senior Permanent

An independent Newport based Accountancy Practice are seeking an additional Accounts Senior to join their busy Accounts team.

The Accounts Senior will benefit from working within a well-appointed office with good transport links (onsite parking) and an unwavering support structure at the core of the business. It is imperative that you have worked within an Accountancy practice environment previously and can prepare accounts to final sign off.

It would be advantageous if you have working knowledge of Xero, Iris, Quickbooks and/ or Sage. Candidacy will be considered from ACA/ACCA exam qualified/part qualified Accountants and Qualified by experience. ACCA study support is available with this position.

You will be meeting and advising clients so clear and confident communication skills are imperative. You need to possess an approachable nature as you will be supporting junior colleagues with queries and providing a mentoring service.

 

Hybrid and flexible working is available with this position plus 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays on top!!!!!


Accounts Senior duties and responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop technical ability by attending webinars and keeping abreast of
    technical development;
  • Preparation and completion of Limited company accounts
  • Ability to use Xero, and other accountancy software.
  • Ability to reconcile all control accounts
  • Supporting junior colleagues with queries;
  • Preparation of management accounts;
  • Dealing with Ad hoc queries raised by clients
  • Being the first point of contact for the client whilst working on their accounts;;
  • Keep the manager informed of any issues that arise with the client;
  • Raise any potential time overruns with the manager as they are identified;
  • Be responsible for clearing review points and addressing any follow up queries until
    the date the accounts are signed.
  • Managing an established portfolio of clients and meeting clients as and when required.
  • Preparation of bank analysis and reconciliations.
  • Fixed asset registers.
  • Preparation of VAT returns.

Monday- Friday 37.5 hour working week (Monday-Friday)
