A successful business services company in Cardiff are recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller. Joining a busy finance team with two credit control colleagues and reporting to the Finance Director.
The company have a defined specialism and work with a selection of blue chip and SME customers. There is also a social conscious being active in the community and having a sustainability programme.
Credit Controller duties
- Manage efficient and timely cash collection.
- Perform daily reconciliations of cash receipts.
- Shared responsibility of maintaining the debtor ledger within Sage.
- Proactive communication with client contacts to resolve issues.
- Processing of sales invoices and credit notes.
- Preparation of statements of account for clients.
- Liaising with Sales to efficiently resolve account queries.
- Leading periodic Credit Control Review meetings with Senior Management Team.
- Liaising with credit insurers.
- Maintain details of credit limits within Sage and communicate to relevant individuals within the business where are at risk of over-trading.
- Perform credit checks on new customers.
Credit Controller person specification
- An active team player.
- Promote strong relationships between all departments of the business.
- Adhere to the company’s policies at all times, in particular the policies for escalating account issues to the Finance Director and wider Senior Management Team.
- Demonstrate commercial skills to recognise and raise potential “red flags” that could indicate bad debt.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels of the business
- Work with honesty and integrity.
- Have a good working knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to build rapport with clients through email and telephone communications.
